Double Knitting Snowflakes Scarf 雪花飄飄圍巾

Winter is coming and I just feel like knitting some snowy themed scarf.

冬天即將來臨, 而我很想要織一條以雪為主題的圍巾.

I was looking for a technique which I can have the reverse side of the scarf to look as pretty as the front, no offense but I personally do not really like the look of purl stitch, then I came across this technique called "Double Knitting" which can fulfill my demand.
The best part of it is, I can knit both sides at the same time with a seamless edge, creating a double thickness and warmness for the cold winter, and also stunning motifs on both sides with contrast colors.
Double knitting is not something complicated, anyone who can knit and purl can do this, just consider this a level up as doing both at the same time.

I've gathered different kind of snowflakes picture and transformed into the pattern for knitting. Then study the double knitting technique and done some research to find the best way to cast-on and bind-off for seamless edges, so that no bulky edges as in the common long tail cast-on or the knit-knit-pass-first-stitch-over-second bind-off method.

This is the first try to design my own scarf pattern, the download link is available below. If unable to see the preview, just email me at changweiyun@hotmail.com and I'll send you the PDF file.

Thank you for sharing your lovely pattern and the videos, esp. the one for the Kitchener stitch. Although I have the instructions in my knitting books, the technique looked complicated. But your video shows how easy it actually is to do, so now I'm looking forward to using it with some of my projects.

Please please could you help me download the PDF or view the video. I cannot seem to find a working link. Looking forward to knitting this technique.

It is difficult to read the instructions since they blend in with the colors on the video. She also does the steps too fast to be able to keep up with her while also trying to read the instructions that are hard to read where you have them.

First of all, thank you so much for all the knitters here that like my design~
I'm sorry that since this is my first time writing my own pattern and recording the videos, some of the steps might not be perfect.
For your information, the PDF download seems to be not working on Internet Explorer, but fine with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. This is the best way I found to attach the PDF, appreciate if anyone could tell me whether there is any other options.
I've also revised the PDF to bigger font for the instruction based on some comments.
Hope this helps!

A wonderful design, pattern and video! Thank you so very much for sharing it and allowing others to try it and see how it is done for free. It truly means a lot! I have always wanted to try Double Knitting but could not afford any lessons and found it hard to understand a written pattern. Your graciousness and generosity is so wonderful!

Thank you again, Colours of the Cloud.

P.S I also like the extra touch you give your Craftsy project photos.

Thank you so much. I actually worked one like that bind off without even seeing anyone do that before, and was surprised to see someone else do it! One question, though? Normally, when you do the prep stitches for kitchener, you 'purl' the front, 'knit' the back and keep on. Why is yours reversed (you 'knit' the front, and 'purl' the back..)? Otherwise, the sequences are correct and the finished object looks amazing! Love your cast-on, too.
